Mihai Vlad

Violinist Entertainer

Born, raised and educated in Eastern Europe (Bucharest, Romania) I have played the violin from the age of six. I am a professional acoustic and electric violinist that has performed on the most prestigious stages of Romania, in orchestras, chamber groups, including The Radio Orchestra, and the Ensemble ''Doina", during the military service.

I play mainly two exquisite instruments: an acoustic Italian violin built in 1696, and a five-string electric customized Yamaha, both violins being cordless and amplified. The accompaniments feature original and arranged background tracks.

I have been in the United States since 1990 and have performed with The Chicago Children's Choir (as a violist) and have taught violin at the Suzuki Violin and Piano Academy in Chicago for seven years. I am also currently teaching violin at Devonshire Cultural Center in Skokie.

I perform at Retirement, Assisted and Independent Living Communities in Illinois as well as special events & other occasions. Furthermore, I routinely perform at weddings, corporate events and fundraisers in the Chicagoland area.

My diverse repertoire includes over 2,500 pieces of music: Classical, Broadway, Musicals, Jazz, Pop, Rock, Contemporary, Funk, Disco, Blues, Ethnic & Holiday tunes, etc.

I play selections from famous artists such as: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Jackson, Patsy Cline, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Lindsey Sterling and many more! From Gospel to Rock, Classical to Swing, Blues and Jazz the list can go on to include any genre desired. I can perform for as many hours as requested, my musical program can be tailored for your particular special event.

I am available to perform 7 days a week upon your booking request.
